Secure email tool for sensitive data handlers: Trustifi
This month Nutramax will begin utilizing a new service called Trustifi to better secure our email. Trustifi has a vast feature set to help companies like Nutramax better secure sensitive data as it travels through email environments. Initially, we will utilize Trustifi’s email encryption service providing end-to-end encryption, quickly following that will review advanced features such as the ability to check the safety of emails while in your inbox, end-to-end email tracking, and a secured alternate storage location.
What does Trustifi email encryption do?
Trustifi’s email encryption is an end-to-end encryption service that lets users encrypt email directly from their Outlook client with a push of a button. It allows users to choose how the email is decrypted with options like mobile phone verification, required passwords, and PIN codes. Trustifi ensures the entire communication chain is encrypted, even a recipient’s reply must be encrypted. Trustifi will be set up with a default retention policy, but users will have the ability to expire emails prior to the default if they choose. Employees with Trustifi will have an extra layer of security, as Trustifi also provides automatic encryption of emails deemed sensitive.
Who will get the Trustifi service?
We have identified three departments within our organization that have a business need to occasionally send sensitive information via email. Those departments are Legal, Finance, and HR. Various members of those departments will receive the Outlook Trustifi plug-in.
What do I need to know about Trustifi?
While the Trustifi encryption app will only be available for select employees handling sensitive information, it is possible you may receive an email from one of these employees with sensitive information that has been encrypted using Trustifi. If you receive a Trustifi email, simply follow the directions in the email to view the document. Trustifi is another tool for employees to use to help better secure Nutramax data.
